Brock Lesnar

Record: 5-2-0

Brock is a natural heavyweight. He actually has to cut weight to make 265, so with him you can expect some of the fast and furious action that is normally only seen at lighter weights. It's part of the fascination with seeing him fight.

Now he's facing a challenge like he never has before.

Alistair Overeem

Record: 35-11-0

Alistair has been fighting everywhere and crushing people with devastating thai boxing and lethal guillotines, but he has never stepped into the octagon. This will be first time fighting in UFC, and it will be interesting to see how he performs.

One thing is sure though. The match will be action packed.

Clash of Titans

This is a classic match up in mixed martial arts. Will Brock's wrestling overwhelm and demoralize Alistair, or will Alistair devastate Brock with lethal knees, elbows, and punches til he he just wants to quit?

No matters what happens, you can expect that there will be a furious pace. Each fighters know what they have to do win. The blueprint is written clearly.

It will be wrestling vs striking. Brock knows even before he steps in the ring that he can't expect to knock Alistair out on the feet. I mean it can happen since anything is possible in a fight, but it is not likely. So he will be aiming to put Alistair on his back.

Alistair on the other hand, no doubt saw Lesnar's fight with Cain Velasquez. In that fight, it was clear that Lesnar lost his heart as a result of the punishment he took. In fact, the same thing happened in his fight with Shane Carwin, until Shane gassed from hitting him.

So Alistair knows that he has to hurt Lesnar early before he gets too worn down from defending all the takedown attempts.

Brock Lesnar is a freak of nature, like one of the X-men or something lol...When he first started in the UFC, I didn't take him seriously, but the guy's a natural. And I'm sure he'll just keep improving.

Yeah, it's one of the reasons that the match will be great. They are both beasts, but they have different styles and backgrounds.

This is definitely a fight I'm looking forward to seeing. I'm glad Lesnar is fit again too as he certainly hasn 't had much luck of late in terms of his health.

I heard that there was a moment when the fight was in doubt since there were some discrepancies in Overeem's pre-fight drug tests. The fight is still a go though so far.

It's going to be a lost for the UFC since he was such a big draw, but I think it's for the best.
